Paul Strunk

Paul Strunk Mr. Strunk has a total of forty-five years experience exploring for oil and gas in Texas, Louisiana and offshore Gulf of Mexico.  This experience includes working for Pan American Petroleum Corporation (BP-Amoco) as a geophysicist and exploration geologist and for Skelly Oil Company as senior exploration geologist.  After working as an independent for nine years, he became vice president for Fontana Oil & Gas Co.  He also served as president for Centura Incorporated, before becoming president of American Shoreline, Inc. Since the beginning of his career in the oil and gas industry, Paul has been involved with the discovery of numerous oil and gas fields in the Gulf Coast area.

Paul has been very active in professional organizations.  He is past president of both the Corpus Christi Geological Society and the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies and is an Honorary Member of both Societies.  He has served on the Advisory Council and as treasurer of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is currently a trustee of the association's foundation.  He has also served as past president of the Texas Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists and as a director of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists.  In October 2007, Paul was awarded the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies highest award, "The Don R. Boyd Medal for Excellence in Gulf Coast Geology."

Mr. Strunk was appointed by Governor George W. Bush in 1996 to serve on the Governor's Committee on Property Tax Relief.  He is currently serving on the Energy Resource Committee of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.

Mr. Strunk received both a Bachelors and Masters degree of Science in Geology, with minors in Geophysics and Petroleum Production, from Kansas State University. Paul is a member of the Advisory Council for the Department of Geology at Kansas State University.  He is also a member of the Presidents Club at Kansas State.
